First ask yourself: What are the things that catches me when i received e-mail?. Then you should start doing the same thing with your e-mails.

Generally, the closing line just wraps it up
"...highlight something unique, support your brand, make your customers feel “in the know” and reap the rewards."
Do not t tire your recipients just because you want them to further understand because in the end it will only leave you nothing but an e-mail sent to the trash.

I never fail to pull something valuable from your posts. Thank you for that. The last several paragraphs set off a lightbulb in my head and I'm re-thinking how we communicate with our database of clients going forward.

Thanks for the post Joel.

Seems to be equally related to a company's Facebook page or Twitter account. Providing that "in the know" information in these arenas would seems to be just as important, if not more so.

Funny how we've come full circle back to a well developed and targeted email campaign that builds relationships. I'm working on two weekly email projects right now that integrate with my blogs. Looking forward to how the 1000Watt and realestatetomato newsletters evolve.
