1000watt Index: Your Guide to Real Estate Technology

5 years ago, when I started working in the real estate space, I found the landscape overwhelming. It was part of the reason I started FOREM in 2006. The blog was a way for me to jot down my thoughts and try and make sense of all the companies, vendors and technologies that were making a splash in this vertical.

A few years later, Marc and Brian took the Real Estate 2.0 mantle and ran with it. They created a mind map to account for all the new companies in online real estate.

But, never ones to back down from a challenge, today, together at 1000watt, we’ve decided to go even bigger.

Introducing the 1000watt Index. We’re calling it the comprehensive guide to real estate technology.

We’ve compiled over 350 links to companies in more than 30 categories that span everything from MLS software to iPhone apps to WordPress plugins.

The Index is for you. It’s to help you find vendors, competitors, partners and/or just plain old cool stuff. The page is completely customizable; meaning you can rearrange any of the blocks in any order you like.

Think of it as a 30,000 foot view of all things geeky in real estate.

Over time, we anticipate adding many more categories and links to the Index. But it’ll depend on your submissions as well. It’s free to list on the Index and we have a fairly straightforward vetting process; existing companies should have an established presence in real estate or as a startup, they should have an interesting new twist or fresh take on the space. It’s that simple.

Finally, we’d love to hear your thoughts on how we can make the Index more usable and friendly for you. Drop us an email at info@1000wattconsulting.com with your thoughts, comments or critiques. We’d love to hear them.

I’m proud that our company, 10K Research, is listed, but we’re more of a Data/Analytics offering than Home Values/Investing. We also do monthly local housing market videos, but I don’t know if you allow doubling up on categories. Submitted for your approval.

Nice work on the list. I was a fan of the RE 2.0 Mind Map. This raises the bar … or if I’m on Twitter, it #rtb.

I just wanted to thank Mark, Brian, and Joel for including Rezora on the 1000watt Index.

I actually came across the index this morning by accident, submitted our company and was listed in a matter of minutes. Very cool guys! I was always a fan of the original map, but I think that this will go above and beyond! Nice work.

Always have been a fan and viewer of the “Mind Map.” The new format is great! Great idea…. still like the name “Mind Map.” Always look forward to your posts and views.

This is a great list – I keep it bookmarked for easy referral.
I have been searching for a company that could work with our MLS in Rhode Island to provide Absorption Rates by price point. Do you know of any such provider?

    Thanks again!

    Hello, C.C.:

Saw your post above. Wanted to show you this: http://www.mplsrealtor.com/downloads/market/HSO/hso.pdf

If that looks cool to you, maybe share it with your MLS. We can do the same thing for them.
