I am not suggesting MLSs get in the business of competing with brokers, and recognize that that's a legitmate concern among some brokers - most often on the question of whether or not an MLS should have a public website.

When I say:

I mean the MLS should make it easier for *brokers* to leverage the data - and the value - they collectively create through participation in the MLS.

It almost sounds like you are saying the MLSs should get into business against the brokers, no?

I know a lot of brokers, and have heard them say, that they would be upset with their MLS competing against them. Isn't what you described above more the brokers/agents job than the MLSs'?

Great post! I would agree that companies need to get everyone involved. Most would rather spend their money in the non producing advertising age rather then in the social media age.

Changing is like starting a new habit. Blogging and social media needs needs to be done over and over until it becomes a new habit.
