Marc,
Strong and decent post. Thanks for the reminder of how human, how vulnerable, and how capable we all are. Chip sounds like an extremely grateful man. In my experience it's precisely his attitude of gratitude that is the foundation of everything else he has been able to achieve. The same holds true for me, though I am prone to forget. So thanks for the reminder.

Already know that Jillanye. Chip was down to his last $1.45 which he spent on a cup of coffee to go. While drinking he cried, prayed and the bottom of the cup he found Jesus, a halfway house, a sponsor, AA and the rest is history.

He talked about others like him who have not risen up from their issues because they spend more energy nurturing the things they feel they can't do, or worse the reasons why why they can't do.

He spent 16 years doing the same thing. For him it took a divine intervention. For others, maybe change requires one simple moment of clarity to realize that what ever dire straight your in can be altered by a doing a few simple little things.

Marc,

Way to boil it down to the simplest actions of a relationship. I often tell agents that the most powerful piece of marketing in your aresenal is a list of what you plan to do (whether on the buy side or sell side), when you plan to do it, and how it will benefit the consumer. The DELIVER ON IT WITHOUT FAIL.

There are a ton of agents that promise the sky and don't deliver. Why set the expectation if you're not going to be able to keep it? anyway, great job keeping it real and highlighting someone's own You Factor... however simple.

Hi Marc,

Next time you see Chip, find out how he was able to make the shift from his past and internally motivate himself to change his life.

Great story. I never know what I'm going to find on this blog, which makes me come back. Maybe that's one of your calling cards: being unpredictable with your writing ideas so that we are drawn in for the surprise.
